Twice a year, Author Events brings together readers, writers and book lovers for an informal social evening celebrating books and the people who love them.
Whether you’re an avid reader looking for your next favourite author, a writer hoping to connect with fellow creatives, or simply someone who enjoys great conversation, we’d love to welcome you.
Our Summer and Winter Socials are designed to be relaxed, friendly and accessible. There are no formal interviews or presentations – just an opportunity to meet new people, discover new books and enjoy spending time with others who share a love of reading.

Unlike a traditional book fair, authors are encouraged to mingle rather than sit behind sales tables, creating a much more relaxed and sociable atmosphere.
Many of our best book sales happen after readers and authors have spent time chatting and getting to know one another.
Sometimes the best recommendation is simply a conversation.
