What does a professional editor see when they open a manuscript?
Join bestselling psychological thriller author Alex Stone and professional editor Emily Reader for this live, interactive two-hour masterclass exploring the editorial process and what happens when an editor approaches an author’s manuscript.
Emily has worked on hundreds of commercial fiction titles as a structural editor, copy editor and proofreader, including Alex’s own novels.
During the session, you’ll:
- Discover what a professional editor looks for in a manuscript
- Understand the different stages of the editorial process
- Explore the difference between structural editing, copy editing and proofreading
- Learn more about the author-editor relationship and how the two work together
- Consider how editorial feedback can help strengthen a manuscript
- Have the opportunity to put your questions directly to a professional editor
Whether you’re working towards a completed manuscript, preparing for submission or simply want to understand what happens further along the publishing journey, this session will give you an insight into the editorial process from the other side of the manuscript.
