Coastal Crime and Southampton Central Library present a new series of live crime-writing events.
Join us at Southampton Central Library for an hour of conversation with some of today’s most exciting crime writers, hosted by crime author MA Hunter.
Accuracy vs. Authenticity
Getting the Details Right Without Killing the Story
How accurate does crime fiction really need to be? And when does getting every detail right risk getting in the way of a great story?
Join TM Stretton, Clare Whitfield and Jason Whittle for a lively conversation exploring the balancing act between fact and fiction. From research and real-world detail to knowing when creative licence is justified, they’ll discuss how crime writers create stories that feel authentic without letting accuracy slow the pace or kill the drama.
There’ll also be an opportunity to put your own questions to the authors.
Part of Coastal Crime Presents, our year-round programme of author conversations and crime fiction events in partnership with Southampton Central Library.
