Characters, Secrets & Psychological Motivation – Psychological Thriller Masterclass

Alex Stone | Author Events

What makes a character believable enough to trust — or fear?

Join bestselling psychological thriller author Alex Stone for this live, interactive two-hour masterclass exploring the psychology behind compelling characters and the secrets, relationships and motivations that drive their behaviour.

During the session, you’ll:

  • Develop complex, believable protagonists and antagonists
  • Explore the fears, desires and experiences that shape your characters
  • Understand how psychological motivation can drive behaviour and plot
  • Explore internal and external conflict, relationships and power dynamics
  • Consider how secrets — and the reasons for keeping them — can influence your story

Whether you’re creating characters from scratch or want to understand existing characters more deeply, you’ll be able to apply the session to your own story and ask questions along the way.

Thursday 8 October 2026 | 7–9pm UK time | Live online via Google Meet

Also included: Writers’ Hub

Your booking also gives you access to the Author Events Writers’ Hub — an informal live online hour where you can ask questions, discuss how you’re applying the teaching to your own novel, and connect with Alex and other writers.
