Dorset author Janet Hancock has had poetry and short fiction published in anthologies. She is the 2025 poetry winner at the Sturminster Newton Literary Festival. In long fiction, she explores how early 20th century war, revolutions, social change, impacted ordinary people. Her novel ‘Beyond the Samovar’, set in Russia and England 1919-20, was published in 2019. ‘The West in Her Eyes’, a tale of a fictional Russian family after the 1917 revolution, was published in 2024 by Resolute Books, a collective of writers, editors and designers passionate about bringing good quality books to readers. Janet enjoys reading anything well written.
