​​I was born in North London but my family relocated several times ending up in South Wales when I was eight. I graduated from Chichester University (then Bishop Otter College) before moving to Gloucestershire, then Dorset where I have lived since 2005.

I write, chiefly but (not exclusively) mystery fiction, and give illustrated talks about Victorian and Edwardian women’s history discussing the amazing – and sometimes bizarre – achievements of women who have overlooked, forgotten or written over.

On a lighter note, I’ve been looking for real dragons since childhood. I know they’re out there somewhere. It’s only a matter of time.
